Star Liner started making reflector optics before the middle of the century. They were primarily known for their short, pedestal mount German Equatorial Mount with good quality optics.

Their Econo Line was started in 1970 and included a GEM with 1 ½" diameter shafts, clock drive and setting circles. The telescope tubes were mounted with hinged rings for tube rotation, included a 1 ¼" focuser and 6x30 finder. Optical tubes were available as 6" f/8 and 8" f/7, 10" f/5.5 and 12 ½" f/5. | |

| The Quality Line included a GEM with 1 ¾" diameter shafts, clock drive and setting circles. Tube assemblies included hinged rings, 1 ¼" focusers and 10x50 finders. Optics were available in 6" f/8, 8" f/7 and 10" f/6.5 tube assemblies. The same line also included 12 ½" f/5 and 14" f/5 optical tubes. These had the same accessories as the rest of the line except that the equatorial mount had 2" diameter shafts. | ||
| Two other lines were added in the late 1970s and 1980s. First, the larger Newtonian tubes were offered in heavy yoke mounts. Later, a replaceable secondary assembly was made available with a perforated mirror to allow both Cassegrain and Newtonian focus on the same instrument. The cost of these instruments, however, quickly became more than would qualify as an amateur instrument. | ||
