Why Buy Used? Where to Buy Used? How to Buy Used? About the Author

The final years of what has been popularly termed "the second millennium" enjoyed a surge of enthusiasm for observing the heavens. Hundreds of thousands of telescopes have been purchased. Yet few guides provide information about these wonderful instruments that are our windows to sky. The only recent publication that provides details about telescopes and equipment is "Star Ware" by Phil Harrington.

Meanwhile, the telescope industry has matured to the point where the sale of pre-owned equipment has acheived a solid foothold in the marketplace. Over a thousand classified ads appear each week for used telescope equipment and numerous dealers participate. The time is ripe for information about used telescopes. The "Millennium Telescope Bluebook" is intended to fill that role.

Information on the site is organized in a manner similar to bluebooks produced for cameras, cars and other collectibles, with details to assist buyers in distinguishing one telescope from another.<

This site is a work in progress. Enjoy what you find, and check back again, because you'll find more as time goes by. And please share any information you have about used telescopes that you don't see here by going to the Feedback page!
